How did Sara and Jeff meet?

We met through our mutual friend Marta at a dinner party held at in Long Beach, New York on July 4th weekend 2004.  It wasn't until the following Labor Day that we held our first date at the U.S. Open.

Why do Sara and Jeff want to spend their lives together?

We love each other.  What more of a reason is there?

When were they engaged?

Christmas Eve 2005

How did Jeff propose to Sara?

Jeff says: On Christmas Eve 2005 after returning home from the annual Jordan family get together I insisted on exchanging presents before turning in for the night just as we had done the year before when Sara was on call Christmas Day. Sara had not yet wrapped any of her gifts but I refused to give in and so Sara proceeded to wrap presents while I attempted to extract the engagement ring from its hiding place. When Sara was done we sat in front of the Christmas tree and exchanged gifts. I gave Sara a Canon Powershot SD550 along with several accessories. It was a big hit. Sara was so consumed with charging the camera's battery, inserting the SD card, playing with the travel case, and figuring out how it worked and what it is capable of that she completely failed to notice that I was down on one knee with a large brown file folder box while telling her how much I loved her. After encouraging her to put down the camera, I was able to receive her full attention while I asked Will you marry me?" Sara was speechless. So I asked Is that a yes or a no? to which she replied by kissing me. I assumed that was a yes and proceeded to ask her if she would like to see the ring. She nodded, I opened the file folder box and pulled out the Tiffany blue ring box and opened it. Sara proceeded to force the ring on her finger even though it had not been properly sized. We proceeded to stay up all night before visiting with our families on Christmas Day.

How did Sara and Jeff decide on Tulum, Mexico for the wedding?

Ever since our first vacation together to Maui, we have wanted to get married with our feet in the sand. In November 2006, we went to the Yucatán with our friends Love and Derrick in search of adventure. While there we came across this absolutely fabulous restaurant, Oscar y Lalo, and fell in love with the food, the atmosphere, and the scenery.

Why attend a wedding when you could be somewhere else for Memorial Day weekend?

For two very good reasons. First, you want to celebrate this important event in our lives. Secondly, if you don't come to Tulum you are going to miss out and a really great time.

What will the weather be like?

The temperatures average 80°F (27°C) and the humidity is always low in Tulum. The rainy season begins at the end of June so expect it to be clear and sunny just about every day.

Will there be a Full Moon?

The wedding will be held four days before a Full Moon (1 June 2007 01:04 UTC).

What about the Wedding Bands?

We have selected an Elsa Peretti® Platinum Wedding Band for Sara and a 4.5mm Platinum band for Jeff.

Where is the honeymoon going to be??

Sara and Jeff have decided to postpone a honeymoon until Sara's next vacation from the hospital.  They will take a few private days after the wedding in Mexico before returning to New York..

Where will the bachelor party be?

Jeff and friends will celebrate at The Ice Hotel on the Torne River in Northern Sweden.   Here are photographs from the trip.  It was a blast.  Drinking from ice glasses, dog sledding, ice sculpting, and of course sleeping in an ice room.

Where will the bachelorette party be?

As yet unknown. :-(

What do we need to remember to pack?

Sunscreen is an absolute must. Sara recommend's Bull Frog and Jeff really likes Blue Lizard and Coppertone Sport. The Mayan Riviera is a beach community so come prepared for being in the water. Sandals are appropriate for walking around resort and the ruins.

What do we wear to the wedding?

The wedding will be on the beach. Guests should wear casual but festive clothing appropriate for an afternoon on the beach.  Guests are encouraged to be barefoot during the wedding ceremony.  After the ceremony guests should feel free to enjoy the water.
